Clemente Bernard

Raising Questions.... Barcelona 10 - 13 April 2006

During this four day workshop Clemente Bernad will ask participants to reflect on the act of photographing and the different ways that images are used.   They will analyze both the more traditional approach to photography and it's newer advances.

Photography's short history is riddled with doubts and insecurities and today there is more confusion than ever. During this workshop participants will be asked to take a step back, start asking some clear questions and start trying to formulate some concrete answers, even if those answers are not definitive. This workshop will place a special emphasis on photojournalism and it's various offshoots.

In keeping with the workshops theoretical discussions, each participant will be asked to develop a body of work during the workshop. Certain boundaries will be drawn and participants will be encouraged to explore their subject within those confines, this will help each person question the necessary foundations needed for building strong personal work.

It is preferred that participants in this workshop use digital cameras.

All participants should bring a portfolio of previous work with them to the first meeting.

This workshop is organized with the collaboration of the Centre de Fotografia Documental de Barcelona
