Tamara Abdul Hadi is Iraqi but grew up in the UAE and Canada. With a background in Graphic Design and Fine Art, she realized her passion for photography in 2004. With her photography she strives to draw attention to the details which the general public does not necessarily have access to, or does not stop to notice. She works with the intention of promoting equality regardless of subject, setting or issue. Tamara has worked as a photojournalist for Reuters and currently works on assignment for The New York Times amoung others. For her workshop project, Tamara chose to photograph prostitution, a growing part of society in Dubai. She met up with the women in the bathrooms of the hotel bars and discos.
