Damascus Gallery

Omar Sanadiki was born in Damascus in 1979.   He studied Library Science at the University of Damascus but since leaving has worked as a photojournalist for the various local newspapers.   Omar has participated in many different photography contests and exhibitions, such as those offered by the Syrian Photography Club and the International Photo Gathering in Aleppo.   He was selected as one of the 15 best young Syrian photographers in a contest jointly produced by the European Commission and the Mustafa Ali Art Foundation about the Environment "Our Environment, Our Life".   He has also participated in various workshops held by the American Cultural Center in Damascus.     For the workshop Omar decided to continue photographing for a project he was already working on:   A visual document of the Jewish quarter of the Old City.   This is the same neighborhood where the actual workshop was held.
