Aleppo Gallery

Nouh Ammar Hammami was born in Syria 1959. He has lived a large part of his life in Morocco. At the age of 18 his parents made him a present of his first camera and he began to work as an apprentice at a photo studio in Casablanca.   He would clean the studio and wipe the dust from the camera lenses, spending hours observing his boss photograph. One day he was allowed the opportunity to make one portrait a day himself, then two, then three and so on. His first exhibition was in Aleppo 1998 and it was about Aleppo itself. He has since participated in the International Photography Gathering in Aleppo and in many other national and international exhibitions both individual and collective. Nouh picks long-term projects that can sometimes take him years to finish. During the workshop Nouh chose to photograph "Inside Khan Al Shounah Souk"
