Dubai Gallery

Mohamed Somji was born in Tanzania but has lived all his life in Dubai where he works in marketing for a Consumer Goods company. His interest in photography sparked when he got his first point-and-shoot digital camera a couple of years ago and since then has been trying to pursue the field more seriously. He hopes one day to dedicate himself full time to photography. For his workshop project, Mohamed chose to focus on the foriegn work force that is building Dubai. Going home with the workers he photographed the places and the conditions in which they live. Sonapur is one of the older worker's camps in Dubai.
