Damascus Gallery

Eyad Abu Kasm was born in Damascus in 1987. Eyad is a self-taught photographer, gaining his education in the medium by looking at images on the Internet and visiting exhibitions held in the city. Only recently did Eyad have the opportunity to work with a professional camera. He is currently earning a living as a photographer for an advertising agency. For the workshop Eyad concentrated on two different story ideas. The first being his grandfather, a retired carpenter living in Bab Touma. The second project arose through a fascination in the romantic exchanges scrawled on the walls of the narrow streets in the Old City.
