Christophe Katrib was born in France, growing up in Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. In 2000 he graduated with a BA in Film from Saint Joseph University, Beirut. Since his graduation he has mostly worked as a freelance director on commercials, but has also been involved in working with sound, music, and acting. Christophe has been photographing on and off for over 10 years. It has only been recently that he started to take photography more seriously. Photographs of his were included in the post-war collective exhibition "Nafas Beirut" at Espace SD and he was recently sent on assignment to London and Istanbul by an english language publication based in the Istanbul.
During the workshop Christophe decided to focus on the subject of exodus, exile, migration and return. These words have long been a part of Lebanese history and experience. Since the July war, and due to the political and economic deadlock, there's a new wave of departures from the country. Lebanon's international airport finds itself a silent witness of the country's future. The title to this body of work is: Present Absent Future: Rafic El Hariri International Airport.
