Charbel Torbey chose photography as a way to express himself following his studies in Film and Video directing. He works as both a photographer and a teacher. Over the past four years Charbel has participated in many solo and collective exhibitions in Lebanon among them a solo exhibition, Reflections, at Virgin Beirut in 2006 as well as other exhibitions in Notre Dame School (Louayzeh); Daraj el Fan (Gemmayzeh); Middle East University (Sabtiey) In 2006, Charbel participated to the 9th International Photography Gathering in Aleppo, Syria. During the workshop, Charbel choose to use still life and collage to create a portrait of the Lebanese home.
