Lebanon Gallery

Cassandra Mathie was born in Townsville Australia in 1977. She graduated with a degree in Photography from the University' Queensland College of Art. Her work documents and explores the universal issues of identity, culture and migration within different cultural contexts. Over the past eight years she has worked and traveled extensively in the Balkans, the Caucuses, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and Mongolia. She is currently based in Lebanon where she works with an International NGO to document non ID Palestinian Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons. For the workshop, Cassandra concentrated on documenting the Gaza Hospital in Shatila Camp, now the home to numerous families.
