Matías Costa

Matías Costa was born in Buenos Aires in 1973 and graudated in journalism from Complutense University in Madrid. Previously Matías was a contributing photographer to the Spanish newspapers El Pais and El Mundo. He was also a member of Agence VU in Paris and Panos Pictures in London. He has been the recipient of the World Press Photo Award, the Leica Award, Unicef awards and PhotoEspaña awards, among others. He has received grants for his work from the Hachette Foundation, the foundation "La Caixa", the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and the World Press Photo Fund. Matías tends to work on long term projects, publishing in magazines like the The New York Times Magazine or Geo. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally and his work is included in various collections.
