Philip Blenkinsop

 

Philip Blenkinsop, VISA D'OR 2008 for his coverage of the China earthquake, has been described as "a man of guerrillas and of resistances" by Herve Le Goff and as "one of the most essential photographers of his generation" by Christian Caujolle.

Since arriving in Asia in 1989, Blenkinsop's name has become synonymous with forgotten conflicts. His work has been published and shown internationally and has been the catalyst for much discussion. Amongst other accolades has been awarded Amnesty International's Photojournalism prize for Excellence in Human Rights Journalism . Blenkinsop continues to live in Asia and is currently working on two long-term projects: Nepal, and Thailand's Southern Insurgency.

He is the author of two books: The Cars That Ate Bangkok (White Lotus) and Extreme Asie (Photopoche Societe)
